Obverse: Portrait on the left of Prince Jean (1921-2019), Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg. Behind the head the word TRIAL. On the left the crowned coat of arms of the Bourbons, on the right the coat of arms of Luxembourg surmounted by a helmet crowned with a flight. Initials of the engraver under the cut of the neck. Around the legend in Luxembourgish and the face value between two points in the exergue.
Reverse: Warrior (representing John the Blind) riding on the right with a helmet studded with a flight, brandishing a sword with his right hand and covering himself with a shield with the arms of Luxembourg. Behind him a phylactery inscribed with his motto in hollow. Around the legend in Luxembourgish, the initials of the engraver at 5 o'clock and below the date of death of John the Blind and the date of issue of the coin.
